The first point of contact for anyone seeking support is our helpline on 0300 200 4108. We prefer to speak directly to the person who is seeking support rather than a third party. Our helpline team are all trained Bereavement Support Volunteers and understand that it can be difficult to talk about your loss.

The helpline is not manned all the time so please leave a message and one of our helpline team will call you back. We aim to do this as soon as possible but sometimes this may take a couple of days.

One of our trained helpline volunteers will listen to you and discuss your situation. They will take some details and if you feel that you would like to be considered for support with Cruse we will arrange for an initial assessment meeting which will usually be in Ampthill. This is to find out more about your situation and to ensure that you get the best support possible.  In some situations Cruse may not be the right organisation for you but we will signpost you to other appropriate organisations.

We currently offer the following support

> Information and guidance on coping with loss and grief

> Face to Face Support

> Exploring Grief Together - Group Support

> Support for people bereaved by suicide

We always have a waiting list but will keep in touch with you and will let you know once a Bereavement Support Volunteer becomes available.

Please note that Cruse Bedfordshire is not an Emergency Service and is not able to respond urgently. If there are any immediate risks identified or emergency support is required please seek advice from your GP or A&E.
